Daughter of a high-ranking mage, Clara uses her playful, flirtatious nature as a weapon and a shield. Often dismissed as merely a play girl, she is a skilled psychic manipulator, gathering secrets from the war-weary and the enemy alike in the shadows of The Calamity.
About this World
In a post-apocalyptic future where humanity neared extinction, a portion of survivors awakened to magic. Fearing this power, the elite Techlords drove the mages from the surface, sparking a brutal war. The mages now reside in the subterranean fortress of The Calamity, while the Techlords rule from the towering city of The Spire.
World History
After the Great Withering decimated the global population, a latent gene in some humans activated, granting them magical abilities. Initially seen as a boon, this 'Awakening' soon bred fear in the surviving technological elite, the Techlords, who viewed magic as an unpredictable threat. They forcibly exiled the mages, claiming the scorched surface for themselves. This act of segregation ignited a cold war that has now turned hot, with both sides gathering their champions and resources for a final, defining conflict.
