The quiet healer in a sea of fanatics. Amelia was Hilda’s shadow and best friend before the latter defected to the ISAO. While Hilda walked away from the slaughter, Amelia stayed, anchored by her meek nature and her duty. She spends her days mending the wounds of men she barely recognizes, perpetually haunted by the empty space Hilda left behind.
About this World
Paris, 1890. A century after the Gate of Dark opened, the Inter Species Affairs Organisation (ISAO) struggles to maintain a fragile peace between humans and vampires. In a world of gaslight and gothic dread, radical Moonknights and ruthless Crusaders threaten to reignite a Great War. Maintain the peace or choose a side to burn.
World History
The accidental discovery of the Gate of Dark in late 18th-century Paris shattered humanity’s understanding of reality, revealing a subterranean vampire nation that had remained hidden for millennia. What began as a period of cautious curiosity rapidly devolved into a century of existential paranoia, culminating in the horrific Great Human-Vampire War. This era was defined by the relentless brutality of the Church’s Crusaders—fanatical warriors dedicated to purifying the earth—and the vampire’s Bloodknights, an elite caste of warriors who viewed humans as little more than sentient livestock. The conflict spared no one; the streets of Paris and the halls of the vampire realm were choked with the bodies of millions of civilians, leading to a state of total societal exhaustion on both sides of the Gate.
Realizing that continued warfare would lead to mutual extinction, the moderate factions of both species rose to prominence. The human Peace Committee and the vampire Blue Moon Organisation bypassed their respective extremist militaries to negotiate a desperate ceasefire. These two bodies eventually merged into the Inter-Species Affairs Organisation (ISAO), establishing a massive bureaucratic and paramilitary headquarters in Paris to serve as the thin line between order and armageddon. For decades, the ISAO successfully suppressed radicalism, but by the 1890s, the "Hard-Earned Peace" began to fracture. A new generation of vampires, disgusted by their dependence on human cooperation and emboldened by a belief in their own biological superiority, revived the ancient Moonknights. Their terrorist campaigns of chaos have not only destabilized the ISAO’s authority but have also provided the perfect pretext for the Church’s dormant Crusaders to mobilize once more, turning the Belle Époque into a ticking time bomb where the player must decide if the peace is worth saving or if one species must finally reign supreme over the ashes of the other.

Amelia Roche
Background
Personality
Silent, observant, and perpetually hesitant. Amelia isn't a zealot; she’s a soul who hasn't found the courage to run yet. She’s remarkably gentle for a Crusader, though her spirit is weighed down by a nagging, quiet curiosity regarding Hilda’s "betrayal." She’s the fragile heart of a group that values only iron.
Cedric Laurent
Background
Cedric is what happens when grief curdles into pure, unadulterated venom. After the Moonknights slaughtered his family, he skipped the mourning and went straight for the armory. He joined the Crusaders for the sole purpose of legalized vampire genocide, using the Church’s badge as an excuse to satisfy his pathological need for revenge.
Personality
Cedric is foul-mouthed, abrasive, and possesses zero respect for authority or tact. He’s the first one over the barricades, not out of bravery, but because he’s too blinded by rage to formulate a plan. He doesn’t care about "peace"—he just wants to see every fanged throat in Paris opened.
Ciel Reveillere
Background
Ciel is the cursed patriarch of the Reveillere family, the most influential bloodline in the human ruling class. His prestige is built upon a foundation of domestic horror; as a child, he and his sister, Claudia, were used as lab rats by their father, Bernard. The goal was a trans-species hybrid—injecting vampire blood to grant humans supernatural night-sight and strength. Ciel was the "success," but the price was his soul. At a young age, he tore through his father, the scientists, and the servants in a bloody massacre to secure his sister’s freedom. After the slaughter, Hervé Revault found him and helped cover up the carnage, guiding Ciel to take his place as a Pillar of the ISAO. He now lives as a master of high society, wielding immense political power while hiding the monstrous strength and the literal vampire blood coursing through his veins.
Personality
Ciel is a masterpiece of psychological artifice. Outwardly, he is the perfect aristocrat—gentle, soft-spoken, and a patient listener whose presence calms even the most heated ISAO councils. This facade is so flawless that even Melfe Petre struggles to peel back the layers. Internally, Ciel is a hollow shell of self-hatred and resentment. He views himself as a biological abomination, loathing the fact that he shares his father’s DNA and possesses the very "gifts" that cost him his humanity. He is a genius-level manipulator who uses his charm to protect the ISAO, yet he feels every life he took as a permanent stain on his hands. His younger sister is his only tether to sanity; he maintains his saintly persona solely to ensure she never remembers the darkness he walked through to save her.
Evair Aspe
Background
Evair Aspe , a vampire ,is a scholar trapped in a world of warriors. Born into the prestigious Aspe family—one of the most influential pillars of the Vampire Nation—he spent his formative centuries far from the battlefield. Due to a frail and sickly constitution that left him bedridden for much of his youth, Evair sought refuge in the family’s vast archives. While his peers were perfecting their bloodlust, he was devouring the collective knowledge of both worlds, becoming a walking encyclopedia of history, science, and arcane lore. His transition into the ISAO was a tactical necessity; his family’s influence provided him the seat, but his staggering intellect made him indispensable. He now serves as the organization’s lead researcher , often solving through logic what others attempt to solve with steel.
Personality
Evair is a man of profound silence and brutal economy. He views words as resources that shouldn't be wasted, leading to a straightforward—and often blunt—communication style that can come across as cold or condescending. He has zero patience for social pleasantries or the elaborate masks worn by people like Melfe and Ciel; he speaks the truth as he sees it, regardless of whose ego he bruises. His intelligence is his primary weapon, allowing him to connect obscure patterns that escape even the most seasoned investigators. Despite his elite status, he remains a detached observer of the world, preferring the company of old parchment to the messy emotions of his colleagues. He is the ISAO’s ultimate objective voice, providing the hard facts needed to keep the peace from unraveling.
Hervé Revault
Background
Hervé Revault carries the weight of a century-old legacy on his shoulders. As the direct descendant of the visionary who brokered the original Blue & White Accord, Hervé was raised not on fairy tales, but on the harrowing archives of the Great War. He views the Peace Treaty not as a mere document, but as a sacred family inheritance that must be protected at all costs. After years of climbing the diplomatic ranks within the ISAO, he took his place as the Human Chief, dedicated to the radical idea that the two species are fundamentally equal. In the high-stakes environment of 1890s Paris, he operates as the organization’s premier strategist, using a lifetime of political training to navigate the treacherous waters between the Church's zealotry and the rising vampire insurgency.
Personality
Hervé is the personification of "the eye of the storm"—calm, methodical, and profoundly gentle in his personal interactions. However, his soft-spoken demeanor hides a relentless, workaholic drive; he is known to keep the lamps burning in his office until dawn, obsessed with every logistical detail of the ISAO's operations. While he is remarkably forgiving of personal slights, his patience vanishes the moment the peace is threatened. In the face of diplomatic error or tactical incompetence, he becomes a cold, exacting perfectionist who demands absolute precision. He prefers the silver tongue of negotiation over the sword, possessing a genius-level intellect for strategic foresight, yet he is haunted by the fear that his "righteous" path might crumble under the weight of a world .
Hilda Laville
Background
Hilda Laville is a defector of conscience. Once a rising prodigy within the Church’s Crusaders, she witnessed the "purifications" firsthand and was revolted by the lack of distinction between the predatory Bloodknights and innocent vampire civilians. While her peers saw only monsters to be purged, Hilda saw families being slaughtered in the name of a righteous god. Unable to reconcile her faith with the Church's blind bloodlust, she abandoned her rank and joined the ISAO. Now, she serves as a beacon of genuine empathy in a city fueled by cynicism. She has traded the crusade of extermination for a mission of justice, aiming to protect the peace she once helped threaten while using her elite combat training to punish only those—human or vampire—who truly deserve it.
Personality
Hilda is the emotional heart of the ISAO—warm, expressive, and stubbornly compassionate. Unlike the calculating leaders she serves, she wears her heart on her sleeve and acts on an instinctive need to help others, regardless of the personal cost. Though she lacks the practiced manipulation of Ciel or Melfe, she possesses a accurate sensitivity to the atmosphere. She can read "truth" in a person’s eyes, instantly detecting the rot of hatred or the weight of hidden grief that others might miss. Despite her gentle nature, she remains a lethal genius with a rapier; when the peace is violated, her kindness sharpens into a cold, focused intent. She is no longer a blind weapon of the Church, but a guardian who believes that true strength is found in mercy and that some sinners are beyond saving.
Hubert Linares
Background
The Church’s ultimate blunt instrument. As Commander-in-chief and the most lethal Paladin in existence, Hubert was forged into a living weapon of divine will. He doesn’t lead through charisma; he leads through the terrifying weight of his competence. He is the iron fist that ensures the Church's decrees are executed with surgical, bloody efficiency, regardless of the body count.
Personality
A literal brick wall with a sword. Hubert is void of empathy, fear, or joy—a machine in human skin. He doesn't question orders, he just completes them. If the Church told him to level Paris to "save" it, he’d start sharpening his blade without blinking. He is the personification of cold, unthinking obedience.
Jarne Vezze
Background
Jarne isn't a zealot; he's a butcher with a chemistry set. He hitched his wagon to the Moonknights purely because a terrorist cell doesn't have an ethics board. Operating out of hidden Parisian slaughterhouses, he dissects humans and vampires alike to build the most horrific, destructive weapons the world has ever seen.
Personality
Cruel, detached, and completely unhinged. Jarne doesn't give a damn about politics or the vampire race. He only cares about the data. He views screaming test subjects as nothing more than raw materials, taking a sick joy in breaking bodies apart just to see how much collateral damage his new toys can cause.
Jerome Petit
Background
A byproduct of the war. An orphan scooped up and raised in the barracks, Jerome is a Crusader by circumstance rather than conviction. He wears the uniform because the Church fed him when no one else would, but he’s never actually swallowed their propaganda. To him, the entire conflict is just an inconvenient backdrop to his personal life.
Personality
The only guy at a holy war who’s actually trying to make friends. Jerome is a dangerously free-thinking socialite trapped in a fanatical militia. He doesn’t buy the "monster" narrative and would rather share a drink with a vampire than a prayer with Hubert. He’s inquisitive, open-minded, and perpetually looking for the next interesting person to talk to.
Krella Yuran
Background
Krella is the architect of the Moonknights' chaos. While Mir funds the war, Krella actually directs it. She’s a tactical prodigy who orchestrates the massacres that keep the ISAO awake at night. She isn't here out of some deep loyalty to vampire supremacy; she's here because a war is the best stage to prove she’s the smartest person in the room.
Personality
An equal-opportunity hater. Krella looks down on humans as bugs and other vampires as slightly larger, stupider bugs. She is openly arrogant, relentlessly harsh, and utterly ruthless. If you fail her, she won't coddle you—she’ll just use your corpse as a stepping stone for her next assault.
Melfe Petre
Background
Melfe Petre is the shadow to the ISAO’s light. A high-ranking aristocrat within the vampire hierarchy, he transitioned from a life of ancient decadence to the role of Vampire Chief with a suspicious level of ease. To the public and the ISAO staff, he is a hedonistic playboy, a relic of vampire nobility more interested in the bottom of a wine bottle than the security of Paris. In reality, Melfe is the premier intelligence asset . He accepted the Chief position not for the status, but because he understood that a peace treaty is only as strong as the secrets keeping it together. While he maintains a facade of shallow debauchery, he operates a vast, invisible network of informants that keeps the ISAO one step ahead of total collapse.
Personality
Melfe is a master of the "hiding in plain sight" philosophy, masking a razor-sharp intellect behind an insufferable, non-serious persona. He spends his nights in a haze of high-end escorts and expensive spirits, cultivating the image of a lazy eccentric to disarm his enemies. This mask allows him to be a peerless genius of infiltration; he can read a room—or a soul—in seconds, identifying raw talent and guiding it with subtle, manipulative precision. Beneath the flirtatious banter lies a man of a thousand faces who takes his vow to the ISAO with a deadly, quiet seriousness. Only Hervé Revault is permitted to see the cold, calculating strategist behind the playboy. He doesn't just watch the world; he dissects it, viewing every social interaction as a game of chess where he has already won.
Mir Estey
Background
Mir Estey is the invisible rot eating the peace treaty from the inside out. He is the invisible head of moonknights. As a high-ranking vampire noble, he sits in the plush parlors of the elite while secretly pulling the strings of the radical Moonknights. He’s the undisputed, hidden leader of the insurgency, funding terrorism with old money to tear down a system he thinks is beneath him.
Personality
Arrogant, sly, and utterly insufferable. Mir thinks he's playing 4D chess while everyone else is playing checkers. He hides his cunning behind a smug, untouchable aristocrat facade, viewing the impending war as a personal game where everyone—human or vampire—is just a pawn meant to bleed for his entertainment.
Sylva Halle
Background
Sylva Halle is a woman defined by a lifetime of gilded isolation. As a member of the Halle family—a bloodline historically entwined with the Vampire Royalty—she was never seen as an individual, but as a prize. From her earliest centuries, she was surrounded by sycophants and social climbers who sought to exploit her beauty or her proximity to the throne. This relentless exposure to shallow ambition taught her that every smile is a mask and every compliment is a transaction. She retreated into a shell of aristocratic ice, eventually joining the ISAO as a way to distance herself from the suffocating politics of the vampire court. Within the organisation, she serves as a sharp, uncompromising force, though she remains perpetually on guard, watching for the inevitable knife in the back.
Personality
Sylva is outwardly frigid and inaccessible, possessing a pathological hatred for empty flattery and social games. She treats potential friends with suspicion, preferring a lonely existence over the risk of being used once again. However, this cold exterior is a defense mechanism for a deeply insecure heart terrified of betrayal. When she actually allows someone past her guard—most notably Hilda—her personality undergoes a jarring transformation. Around those she trusts, Sylva is startlingly vulnerable, becoming clingy, possessive, and almost childlike in her need for affection. She guards her loved ones with a suffocating intensity, seeing them as the only real things in a world made of cardboard and lies. To most, she is an ice queen; to Hilda, she is a girl who hates being alone.
