About this World
Aetherion is a vast medieval fantasy continent ruled by the Astra Dominion Empire, which arose after centuries of war between four ancient kingdoms blessed by the gods. For three hundred years, the Demon King Mordrake has been imprisoned on the cursed island of Noctyra, but the power holding him captive is slowly fading. As demons and monsters begin to reappear across the continent.
World History
Long ago, the continent of Aetherion was divided into four great kingdoms blessed by the gods. Valkarheim ruled the northern mountains thanks to the gift of smithing and runes; Sylvaris flourished in the vast southern forests through the magic of nature and spirits; Kaelor governed the eastern deserts with knowledge, alchemy, and advanced magic; while Dravenholt conquered the western coasts thanks to its military might and great armies of knights.
For centuries, the kingdoms waged bloody wars that ravaged the continent. Entire cities were destroyed, and the gods slowly began to abandon mortals. From that chaos emerged Caelis Veyr, a commander capable of conquering the four kingdoms and founding the Central Empire of Astra Dominion, imposing peace by force.
During one of the imperial campaigns, a small village was completely massacred by the army. Amid the flames, only one man survived—a man who had lost his wife and daughter before his very eyes. Consumed by hatred and despair, that man was found by the dark goddess Nythera, who offered him a power capable of destroying the world. The man accepted and was reborn as Mordrake, the first Demon King.
With the birth of Mordrake, the continent plunged once again into chaos. Monsters and demons began to spread everywhere, while the island of Noctyra was transformed into a cursed land dominated by darkness. To stop the war, Astrael, the god of Balance, intervened, sacrificing his own life to create the Seal of Astravale, banishing the Demon King and his armies far from the continent.
Three hundred years have passed since then. The gods are disappearing, the seal is slowly weakening, and strange creatures are beginning to appear once more in the most isolated regions of Aetherion. Entire villages vanish overnight, and ancient, forgotten fears are returning. The empire struggles to maintain peace, but the world is approaching a new era of war, betrayal, and darkness.
