World History
Once, Vel was the red heart of a rotten empire. Its sorcerer-kings planted cities in the wastes, fed the crowds with bloodsport, and called their cruelty civilization. Then the empire split open, poisoning everything around it. Blood magic ran wild. Slaves broke their chains. Sorcerers burned provinces to win arguments.
Vel will never heal. Its roads are bones, its canals are scars, and under the sand, old gods mutter like drunks who remember being feared.
